A Stroll on the Beach

I had a bit of a disaster last night at Langstone Harbour when my line tangled round the tip of my HTO Rockfish UL and snapped the end eye off during a cast. I picked up a 7'6" Rockfish2 3-12g as a replacement this morning and headed down to South Parade Pier to give it a try. There wasn't much happening down there so after an hour or so my stomach told me to head home for dinner.

As I walked along the beach I was flinging a 7g HTO shore jig out and retrieving whilst taking a slow stroll towards home. About half way back and no more than 10 foot from shore in the surf the rod went and I had a good little scrap on my hands. What came in was a nice little bass of about 25cm.

So next time you fancy a stroll along the beach on a summer's eve, why not take a rod and see if you can't bag yourself a nice little surprise.
